About me

Kay Diamond
Hello and welcome to my page.
It can be confusing trying to find the 'right' therapist, so I offer a free, 15 minute, no obligation chat where we can get to know each other a little. I believe that you will know if I am the right therapist for you after this chat. It is important that you feel happy with your choice, as the relationship we form is the foundation on which our work together will be based.
I was inspired to begin counselling training many years ago, after having personal therapy to help with anxiety. The experience was profound; then as part of my psychotherapy training I had 4 years of weekly therapy, so I am familiar with the thoughts and feelings you may be having about finding and experiencing therapy.

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a theory which explores our personality.
It shines a light on how our past experiences shape who we are and why we behave in certain ways. It helps us to understand our beliefs about self, others and the world around us.
It is especially useful in helping us to connect with others in more healthy ways. It also helps us to build a better relationship with ourselves, learning to quieten our inner critic, promote self compassion and esteem.
Unlike some other forms of counselling, TA looks for the root cause of our issues rather than just dealing with the symptoms.
I will endeavor to make you feel welcome, comfortable and safe.
At the first session I will ask a few questions about your current life situation, what is was like growing up and what brings you to therapy. We will discuss what goals you have for our sessions and how we can achieve them.
This is the time for you to share what's going on for you, which can feel a little uncomfortable for those who find it difficult to talk about their feelings, but I promise to be your ally; no judgement, but to support you in finding your way through these difficult times.

I will help you to gain alternative perspectives and explore any 'blocks' which may be preventing you from moving forward. If it might be helpful we can explore any unconscious
patterns of behaviour and any outdated beliefs that may be holding you back.
I offer face to face sessions from my offices in Southend on Sea and Rochford, Essex.

I hold online sessions via Zoom.

Sessions are 50 minutes.

Session fee: £55.
